I hold a Bachelor's in Marine Science and completed my graduate coursework in Geographic Techniques. Somewhere along the way I fell in love with the intersection of spatial analysis and software development, the place where maps become code and code becomes maps.

I believe that behind every good decision lies good data, and behind good data is someone who knew how to ask the right questions of it.

Outside the office

My other passions are my pets, scuba diving, and books. I'm a scuba instructor, and if there's water nearby I'm probably in it. When I'm not underwater, I'm likely in a book or at my bookbinding table, building the books themselves. I share my bookish interests online as @_lorelei_reads.

While I have both cats and dogs, pictured above is Zoe, my Carolina Dog - in my opinion, the finest dog breed most people have never heard of.
